Dallas has no shortage of spas. A handful are situated inside swanky hotels, complete with infinity pools and state-of-the-art saunas. You’ll also find med spas, where guests can indulge in custom facials, injectables, and cutting-edge skincare treatments all at once. There are even mega spas, complete with waterparks and food courts.
But our focus is on Dallas’ true day spas, retreats where you can spend an afternoon in a fluffy robe, cucumber water in hand. Some of them offer waxing, mani/pedis, and salon services, but their menus tend to focus on facials and massages, with a few signature services sprinkled in. And, of course, each is well-equipped with amenities like luxury showers and relaxation rooms that will tempt you to stay for hours.
We’ve narrowed down the list to help you discover the standout spas among the myriad options in North Texas. (For today’s purposes, we’re sticking with standalone spas–nothing at The Joule or The Adolphus this time.) Here are our go-to sanctuaries when we’re craving a few hours of relaxation.
Halcyon Days Salon & Spa is one of Dallas’ best-kept secrets. This subterranean establishment is located under Neiman Marcus’ bustling cosmetics department. To enter, just look for the gilded spiral staircase near the elevators. You’ll step inside a soothing oasis with curved walls and a gleaming gold and white palette.
At Halcyon, guests can book makeup, waxing, or facial appointments, each corresponding to one of the beauty counters upstairs. We’ve tried and loved the Cle de Peau’s Synactif Facial (which is complimentary with a purchase of two items from the luxury brand), which featured three types of facial massages. No matter what treatment you choose, it’s cosigned by Neiman Marcus, so you’re in good hands.
After decades of building a loyal customer base and opening outposts across the state, Hiatus is practically a Texas spa institution. The spa’s flagship location in Inwood Village recently received a makeover and now sports a trendy white-and-wood aesthetic, and several new locations have popped up around Dallas in the past year. Regardless of which location you choose, the spa services are consistently solid (as is Hiatus’ signature green tea).
For top-tier relaxation, schedule a Monthly Retreat, a curated and ever-changing combination of services like hot stone massages, body scrubs, and scalp treatments. Want to commit to a self-care routine? Join the H-Circle members club, which starts at $69 and includes one treatment a month, like a tailor-made facial, a mani-pedi, acupuncture, or a body wrap.
